It is not uncommon to pass by the Ohr Yisroel dining room and hear the sweet sounds of soulful songs coming from one of the tables. With talented and inspired talmidim and rebbeim, lunch often turns into a full on kumzitz in the yeshiva. One after another, people grab their guitars, play a few chords and the singing takes off. Beloved rebbe Rabbi Soniker can often be found at the center, strumming his guitar, eyes closed, leading the group. It is a moving scene to observe and anyone present can not help but pull up a chair and join in.
