Ohr Yisroel talmidim had the opportunity to hear a first hand report from the front lines in Israel this past. Beloved Rebbe Rabbi Elon Soniker returned from his mission to Israel and presented to the talmidim about his moving trip. Rabbi Soniker also serves as the rav of Congregation Anshei Shalom in West Hempstead and was in Israel as a part of a rabbinic mission to bring support to those in need. He inspired the talmidim with reports of the courage he saw while communicating the suffering and loss that everyone is coping with during this difficult time.
In addition, Rabbi Soniker had the opportunity to visit Ohr Yisroel alumni learning in Israel and be mechazek them. Naturally, the alumni were overjoyed with the chance to catch up, sing and shmooze with their beloved rebbe.
