An emerging trend in aliyah is where friends and families make aliyah together to a community in Israel. On Sunday, March 20, at 12 noon at Congregation Ohav Emeth, 415 Raritan Ave. in Highland Park, olim advisors will hold a session on how people can participate in community aliyah. At this meeting, they will discuss the pros and cons of making aliyah as a community, examples of community aliyah initiatives that are underway and communities and projects that they are evaluating.

Over 25 projects (from many different developers) in 21 different communities have been identified. All these projects have been vetted and financed by a major bank in Israel, which takes away a major risk of default by the developer. Vetted real estate agents from around the country, specializing in specific areas, have also been engaged in this project. Olim advisors will also have an Israeli banker who will discuss mortgages in Israel and a real estate lawyer who will discuss some of the legal aspects of purchasing real estate in Israel.
