Ever wonder how olive oil for the Chanukah menorahs is made? The children of the Stein Yeshiva early childhood know how! On Tuesday, December 15, the fifth day of Chanukah, the nursery children were treated to an interactive olive oil making workshop! Together with Rabbi Deitsch from the Chabad of Bronxville, the children investigated where olive oil comes from and how it is made. Fortunately, the children did not have to wait eight days for the oil! By the end of the workshop session, the children were able to see their green olives go from a solid to a liquid! How incredible! As an extra safety precaution, the workshop was held multiple times, with one classroom cohort participating at a time. After sanitizing hands, children were able to volunteer to help manually pull the heavy lever of the olive press and carefully collect the oil dripping out. Great work, kinderlach! Chanukah Sameach!
