OMO Construction: The One You Want for Your Next Home Project

“On time. On Budget.” Those four words just might be the most magical words to homeowners who are ready to tackle a major home renovation. Luckily, David Baumser, founder and owner of OMO Construction, stands by that slogan and has a long track record delivering on that promise for over 30 years.

Specializing in additions, remodels and new home builds, Baumser and his team at OMO Construction pride themselves on delivering superior quality, exceptional service and peace of mind to every client at every phase of a project. A one-stop shop, OMO Construction will be there from design to completion, guiding clients to all the resources and expertise that they could possibly need without ever worrying about getting “nickel-and-dimed.”

Before beginning any project, Baumser suggests that clients do research by visiting showrooms, stores and websites. “Go shopping in various stores to see what’s out there so that everything is done with thought and intention instead of realizing in hindsight what you should have done,” he added. It’s especially important for them to see things in person in order to get a sense of what items and materials will look and feel like in their home before installation.

He will then meet with his clients to discuss all their ideas and lifestyle in order to begin planning the project accordingly. Baumser advises clients to really think about how they use the spaces in their homes and what they wish to improve upon with a construction project. It’s important to consider the ages and stages of the people in the home and even think about the long-term by making a home accessible for older adults and small children alike.

After he’ll obtain surveys, ensure that the structural engineering plans accompany the blueprints, and double check to see that there are no surprises in store, like a high water table or termite damage that could impact a project before it has even begun. “If you see a bug you should have it investigated immediately,” Baumser cautioned. Knowing if you have a termite issue before initiating a big remodeling project can save you big bucks.

Baumser recommends to his clients to come up with a list of appliances they want and encourages them to opt for ones that are energy efficient and highly functional since they tend to come with all the modern conveniences an observant family would need. Do they prefer a single 36” fridge/freezer combo or do they want to splurge for a high-end Sub Zero side-by-side refrigerator and freezer that will take up double the space and could mean losing additional cabinetry and counter space? Perhaps a client wants both a 48” stove and gas burner in addition to a 30” double wall oven which will require just the right layout to accommodate that request.

OMO Construction works with a cadre of exceptional professionals, including kitchen designers, who intuitively understand the needs of his clients. He also deals with a few different suppliers to ensure
a more than adequate variety of products from which to choose in terms of grade and quality. Baumser and his team will help clients select the ideal installation materials like quartz and granite countertops, which continue to be the kitchen surface of choice, especially in kosher homes. White cabinets are still fairly popular, but Baumser has some great ideas about other cabinet colors and wood stains that could look just as fabulous and easy to maintain. He encourages clients to explore the newer products available today that have been engineered to last longer and better withstand wear and tear.

Sensitive and acutely attuned to the needs of Orthodox Jewish homes, OMO Constructions is thoroughly educated, knowledgeable, and experienced in all township municipal codes and guidelines. “Everything is done to code. No shortcuts. No excuses,” Baumser emphatically stated. In fact, OMO Construction regularly exceeds those standards, knowing that doing so can make all the difference to a shomer Shabbos family.
