On Giving Tuesday, Jewish National Fund to Match Dollars

‘Double Your Impact’ to Build a Bright Future for Israel.

Jewish National Fund (JNF) will once again take a leading effort in the annual #GivingTuesday campaign on November 29, under the banner “Doubling Your Impact,” as every donation made to JNF will be matched by the generosity of the Gene & Marlene Epstein Humanitarian Fund and by JNF Chairman of the Board Ronald S. Lauder.

#GivingTuesday is a movement to celebrate and provide incentives to give to charitable causes, inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they celebrate, and help create a better world.

“We have many things to be thankful for and GivingTuesday is a great way to really come together to help causes near and dear to us all,” says JNF CEO Russell F. Robinson. “JNF is Israel and Israel is JNF. Thanks to our amazing donors, Israel is the global leader it is today. Make your dollars count double on GivingTuesday so that we can continue growing Israel’s ground-breaking research and development, innovative water technologies, and all the tremendous community building we are spearheading. All these achievements are there to be shared with humanity and to improve the quality of life for all, regardless of nationality, gender or creed.”

This year, JNF will launch a “text to donate” feature for all mobile devices allowing users who opt-in a quick and efficient way to make their dollars count on #GivingTuesday. By simply texting “JNF” to 80077, donors on the go have the opportunity at their fingertips to show their support for JNF.

JNF is well under way in achieving its goals as outlined in its groundbreaking One Billion Dollar Roadmap for the Next Decade campaign, which channels JNF’s values for new ventures. Contributions toward JNF’s #GivingTuesday initiative will bring the organization closer to realizing those values that JNF is known for, which include “greening” the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks across Israel, creating new communities and cities in Israel’s north and south for generations of Israelis to call home, bolstering Israel’s water supply, helping develop innovative and agriculture techniques, creating inclusive parks and public spaces for those with special needs and providing education to all about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.

Following the 2015 #GivingTuesday campaign, JNF witnessed record-breaking donations, with $412,000 received online and through social media, emails, phone-a-thons and special events. Including an equivalent matching gift, JNF raised more than $825,000 on #GivingTueday in 2015. Reflecting on last year’s success, JNF President Jeffrey E. Levine said, “Donors gave to JNF because of the major role we have played in Israel’s water achievements, enhancing afforestation, and creating green and sustainable innovations that help people not only in Israel, but also in Asia, India and Africa.”
