OneFamily Airs Erev Yom Hazikaron Program

(Courtesy of OneFamily) OneFamily aired a heart-rending program on Monday night to remember loved ones lost to acts of terror. Bereaved family members spoke about their loved ones openly, reliving the moment that shattered their lives, as well as tender memories from the past and lessons learned. Eight families shared their thoughts on Erev Yom Hazikaron, as the world watched, from their shelter in place, with tears in their eyes. The current pandemic underpins the basic human need for connection with others, so OneFamily coordinated a new project called One-To-One. Volunteers signed up and were matched with bereaved families to call on Yom Hazikaron to talk, listen and offer support, and even some cheer, bridging that lonely void from across the ocean. Along the same lines, the OneFamily Youth Division listened to the siren together on a Zoom chat, so that they would all be there for each other, without physically being there. We are grateful for finding ways to feel closer together during this lonely time of isolation.
