With less than four weeks away to the OHEL OXC Challenge, our team, the Garden State Warriors, really stepped up our training this past Sunday. We left the climate-controlled gym environment to train outside on uneven and rough terrain. The purpose was to get us all ready and as prepared as possible for the five-mile obstacle course we will be up against at OXC. Exhilarating and exhausting is the way I would describe this unique outdoor training experience.
Led by our amazing and inspiring trainer Carol/Chani Teigman, we climbed ropes and monkey bars; did lunges, push-ups and sprints; jumped rope; lifted weights; and more. She pushed each of us hard and many of us went further than we had ever gone in the past.
Our team is truly ready to do whatever it takes to complete the 4th Annual OXC-OHEL Xtreme Challenge, which will take place on Sunday, May 27, at Camp Kaylie in Wurtsboro, New York. Over the past few weeks, our team has developed a nice camaraderie and we are all excited and ready for the big day. We are thrilled because we are still the number one team and we intend to stay like that ’til the end. We still have room for more people if you would like to join in. Our team currently has 25 members and we’d love more.
Our current team members are Adeena Csillag, Tamar Edell, Lori Frank, Chava Gamss, Michael Gutlove, Linda Hoffman, Dena Kinderlehrer, Pam Newman, Michael Packer, Tutu Packer, Jonathan Packer, Ken and Debbie Rutz, Alissa Selevan, Ariel Solomon, Aliza Solomon, Chani and Jason Teigman, Andrew Teigman, Aliza Zeffren, Tali Zelenetz, Pam Scheininger, Shana Goldberg and Lauren Hirsch.
We meet every Sunday morning at 8 a.m. at The Gym in Englewood. Even if you can’t make the training sessions, you’re still able to join our team.
