Note from Michael Pritsker: The letter below represents views of numerous Jewish families from Central New Jersey and New York City. The majority of us experienced many forms of anti-Semitism while living in the Soviet Union. We strongly condemn the anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli views of Rep. Ilhan Omar and her colleagues from the Democratic Party.
A copy of this letter is being sent to Reps. Omar, Tlaib and Ocasio-Cortez and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. We also copied Rep. Tom Malinowski, from the Seventh Congressional District where many of us reside.
Once an anti-Semite, always an anti-Semite.
No amount of half-hearted apologies will ever change this fact.
We see right through you and your petty Jew co-haters—Ocasio-Cortez and Tlaib—and we are not being fooled.
As someone who referred to the democratically elected government of Israel as “Israeli regime” during an interview with CNN, you, Rep. Omar, have the audacity to question the loyalty of American Jews? So what about your loyalty Rep. Omar?
When you took the oath to defend the Constitution of the United States in January 2019 as one of many new members of 116th U.S. Congress, did you really understand the meaning of the words “do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic”?
Your statements in regard to “political influence in this country that says it is okay to push for allegiance to a foreign country,” is a slanderous statement about Jewish people. We suppose that Hamas or Hezbollah terrorists would be applauding your point of view.
Fact: Jewish people managed to defeat so many virulent anti-Semites throughout our nearly 6000-year history that your name will hardly be a blip on a very long list of forgotten nemeses.
Your close pal Ocasio-Cortez remarked earlier that “AIPAC is coming after her (Alexandria), Ilhan and Rashida.”
Well, if AIPAC does “come after” you, AOC and a foul-mouthed Rashida Tlaib, we will certainly support them. But we, American Jewish citizens, are not waiting for AIPAC to expose your views.
Six million Jews who were murdered by the Nazis during World War II are now silent forever.
Out of the ashes of those six million Jews, a state of Israel was born and will always remain the Jewish historical homeland with Jerusalem as our eternal capital.
But we, the living Jews, will not be silent in light of your recent anti-Semitic comments and behavior.
Never again!
As Jews around the world were celebrating the holiday of Purim, we were once again reminded that anti-Semitic, hateful rhetoric is still alive and well and even found its way to the U.S. House of Representatives.
