Opening a US Consulate in Jerusalem for Palestinians?

The effort to open a U.S. Consulate to Palestine in Jerusalem undermines and threatens Israeli sovereignty in its capital, and risks forfeiting Jewish access to and control of our holy places. This action by the administration stands in violation of the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 that extended bi-partisan recognition to Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel. I urge all readers to actively oppose this initiative and to reach out and make their opinions known to our political representatives, lay leaders and heads of major Jewish organizations, most of whom have been sitting on the fence as this potential disaster looms. Senate proposal S3063, thus far signed by 36 Republicans, no Democrats, introduces legislation to block the administration’s plan and to uphold the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995. The enemies of Israel and the Jewish community are motivated and stand united against us. Are we to remain passive?
