Organizations Impacting Our Community

We are proud that our many organizational partners and advertisers — the Orthodox Union, Yeshiva University, Touro College, Ohr Torah Stone, AMIT, Renewal, SINAI Schools, Screening Our Future and so many other entities—have utilized The Jewish Link to launch their newest projects and most important campaigns. Many in our community are involved on a daily basis with these organizations.

It’s amazing and a true privilege to watch new organizations add themselves to our circulation area’s sphere of influence. In 2018, we were pleased to watch NechamaComfort, an organization founded by Teaneck’s Reva Judas to assist women and families working through pregnancy or child loss, grow into a full-fledged national organization with the help of the first cohort of the Orthodox Union’s Impact Accelerator Grants. Yosef Giller’s GrowTorah, part of the 2018 first cohort as well, is also based in Teaneck, and does an amazing job develops garden-based experiential and environmental Torah education programs. They have grown in leaps and bounds since then.

This week, we are again pleased to congratulate CCSA, Communities Confronting Substance Abuse, and Daily Giving (Tzedakah Yomi), two entities we covered from the “grassroots” phase to advocacy to today, as they have become two of just four recipients of the second cohort of the OU’s Impact Accelerator Grants.

CCSA, developed by Teaneck’s Liane and Etiel Forman, works to provide support and resources to families facing substance-abuse challenges and stigma, and Daily Giving, envisioned by White Plains’ Dr. Jonathan Donath, is a unique effort to make tzedakah a formal part of every Jew’s daily life. Both will now benefit greatly from the OU’s Impact Accelerator grant funds and its access to experienced professional mentors, as well as additional access to OU resources and network infrastructure.

The Formans and Dr. Donath will take part in a customized curriculum of business skills, coaching, fundraising and implementation strategies over the next 10 months to accelerate their ventures.

We are proud to work closely with these important organizations, which have already changed and will certainly continue to change our communities for the better. We wish them hatzlacha with these ventures and look forward to reporting on these organizations’ successes. May our community continue to go from strength to strength.
