Orthodox Forum Plans Talk on Antisemitism on Campus

The Orthodox Forum of Edison/Highland Park presents Andrew Getraer speaking on “Antisemitism on Campus: An Insider’s Look,” on Motzei Shabbat, December 18 at 8 p.m. at Congregation Etz Ahaim in Highland Park and viewable via Zoom: https:// tinyurl.com/cpure5uj.

Ninety percent of university-age American Jews attend college, making campus antisemitism a central issue for the American Jewish community. Getraer was executive director of Rutgers Hillel, the largest Hillel in America, for 20 years. In that time Rutgers was both one of the most embattled campuses in the country and one of the most successful in combating anti-Jewish activity. Getraer will engage in a frank and open discussion of the perceptions, realities, challenges and opportunities we face today.

Getraer worked at Hillel of Rutgers University, serving the largest Jewish undergraduate population in the United States, from 2001 to 2021. Under his leadership Rutgers Hillel became one of the most successful Hillels in the country, increasing revenues and student engagement by over 500%, and building a new, state-of- the-art 40,000 square-foot facility, the largest in the country.

The program is free of charge. The Orthodox Forum gladly accepts season sponsorships, as well as program sponsorships. For more information, visit: www.orthodoxjewishforum.org.
