Orthodox Union Hires Ilana Weinberger as Assistant Director of Public Relations

(Courtesy of The OU) The Orthodox Union (OU), the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish umbrella organization, is pleased to announce that it has hired Ilana Weinberger as assistant director of public relations, part of an ongoing expansion of the organization’s marketing and communications department.

Ilana will be responsible for assisting in highlighting the work of the OU and its myriad departments and programs.

Rivki Schwartz, director of marketing and communications, said, “The OU is doing outstanding work for the Jewish community, and those initiatives deserve recognition through a strong marketing team.

We’re happy to have Ilana join us to help amplify our PR efforts.”

Ilana will report to Jennifer Packer, director of public relations. Said Jennifer, “We are excited to welcome Ilana to our growing team. Between her PR experience and her understanding of how crucial our programs are for supporting Jewish life, Ilana was a clear choice for this new role.”

The Orthodox Union has been working for the past year to restructure and expand its marketing and communications department so that it can better share and inform both the media and the community about the many services and offerings the OU provides to the Jewish community and beyond.

Said Ilana, “I’m honored to have the opportunity to tell the stories of the OU’s remarkable achievements and to help showcase this work across the Jewish spectrum. Having personally benefited from OU programs, I’m excited to increase awareness of the organization’s many important and life-changing initiatives.”

Ilana joins the OU with five years of experience working at New York-based public relations agencies primarily focused in the technology realm. She graduated from New York University with a major in applied psychology and minors in media culture and communication, and creative writing. She is currently completing a master’s degree in corporate communication at Baruch College.
