(Courtesy of OU) In November, the Orthodox Union’s (OU) Synagogue Initiatives division hosted its annual Executive Director and Administrator Conference in Tampa, Florida. Since its inception in 2011, the conference has offered a unique networking opportunity that includes presentations by subject matter experts, a discussion on executive director and administrator best practices and other professional development opportunities for synagogue professionals.
Approximately 30 synagogues participated in this year’s conference, in addition to about 100 school and community members and dozens of vendors and support representatives.
For this year’s conference, Synagogue Initiatives partnered with Torah Educators Network (TEN), a network of Orthodox school administrators with similar issues and networking needs. Orthodox Union Managing Director Maury Litwack, who is also founder of the OU’s Teach Coalition, delivered the keynote speech: “Superhuman Klal Work: What’s Expected of Each of Us, What We Can’t Do, What We Must Do.”
