(Courtesy of OU) The Orthodox Union’s (OU) Women’s Initiative has launched its virtual Yemei Ratzon program offering ideas and inspiration in preparation for the upcoming High Holidays. The program offers shiurim by world renowned Torah scholars and a month-long learning series on teshuva, tefilla and tzedaka.
The shiurim series features a series of lectures on Selichot night, August 28: Rabbanit Shani Taragin will speak about “Revisiting Akeidat Yitzchak in the Selichot” and Sivan Rahav Meir will speak about “Thoughts on Selichot from Jerusalem.” Michal Horowitz addressed “Chodesh Elul: Three Necessary Components of Repentance and Renewal” for the first program on Rosh Chodesh Elul.
The month-long learning series on teshuva, tefilla and tzedaka will include a daily shiur from Dr. Michelle Sarna on “Teshuva: Return + Reboot” and a daily shiur from Shira Hochheimer on “Tefilla Challenges: Focus on Ashrei.” The series on tzedaka will be in partnership with Halacha Yomi and will focus on “To Give and to Gain: Hilchos Tzedaka.”
“Since its inception, our Women’s Initiative department has been creating programs and learning opportunities that is the communal leader in women’s scholarship,” said Orthodox Union President Moishe Bane. “This program further builds on that mission by providing learning opportunities around the three topics we focus on during this time period.”
“During this period of focus on change and growth, the Women’s Initiative department has curated an unparalleled program to provide inspiration to fuel that growth, featuring world-class teachers,” said Orthodox Union Executive Vice President Rabbi Moshe Hauer.
“There are three pathways on one’s spiritual journey during the Yemei Ratzon and we have designed this program to provide daily opportunities for growth during this time of introspection,” said Founding Director of the OU Women’s Initiative Rebbetzin Dr. Adina Shmidman.
