Pacific Delights Debuts Tokayer Heritage Tours to the Far East

(Courtesy of Lotus Tours) In association with Rabbi Marvin Tokayer and the Foundation for Remote Jewish Communities (FRJC), Pacific Delight Tours (www.PacificDelightTours.com) will debut its inaugural “Tokayer Heritage Tours” based upon the 35-year proven itineraries created by Rabbi Tokayer.

2018 marks the 36th year (double chai) since Rabbi Tokayer, former chief rabbi of Japan, began lecturing and writing on the Jewish experience in the Far East. His books, “The Fugu Plan,” “Pepper Silk & Ivory,” and “Sugar in the Tea,” recount the amazing saga of these unknown chapters of the Jewish experience. He pioneered best-selling tours to explore those remote Jewish communities, and his upcoming “heritage tours” include:

Exotic Far East, visiting Mongolia, Manchuria, Siberia and South Korea, Aug. 4-19, 2018.

Southeast Asia, visiting Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia, 11~26, 2018, led by Rabbi Rachel Safman who lived and taught in Singapore and Thailand.

India My 2nd Home, a tour of Mumbai, Kochi, Kolkata Delhi and Agra, Jan. 16-29, 2019, led by Professor Nathan Katz, one of the world’s leading experts on India and Jewish India.

Mission to Bulawayo, in Zimbabwe, Jan. 17-29, 2019, visiting Bulawayo, Hwange Game Reserve, Victoria Falls; Livingstone, in Zambia; and Cape Town, South Africa, escorted by Rabbi Sean Jensen.

These fully escorted tours include deluxe hotel accommodations; all internal flights and transportation such as the trans-Siberian railroad to Birobidjan; all meals, local scholars, meetings with the Jewish communities, enticing cultural sightseeing and events, English-speaking local guides, hotel taxes and service charges; and all gratuities throughout the duration of the trip. Most tours also include round-trip international group airfare from New York (JFK).

All tours include a $900 per person tax-deductible donation to FRJC, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit public educational charity devoted to preserving and promoting the endangered remote Jewish communities on the periphery of the Diaspora. Since its inception in 2003, FRJC has distributed more than $1 million for Jewish libraries, scholarships and even sustainable farming projects to those underserved remote Jewish communities.
