Palisades JCC Presents ‘The Funny Monster Who Ate My Peas’

The JCC School of Performing Arts at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades will present the last of this season’s exciting professional theater series on Sunday, February 28, at 2 p.m., with an ArtsPower’s production of “The Funny Monster Who Ate My Peas.” Introducing children ages 3 and up to the exciting world of live theater, this funny and imaginative musical features a story about a young boy who discovers a crafty monster under his kitchen table, who is willing to eat the boy’s peas for a price. The boy is willing to trade his soccer ball and then his bike. But when the monster keeps raising the stakes, what’s the boy to do?

ArtsPower, a pre-eminent nonprofit producer of professional live theater, travels all over the U.S. to bring our community the best of the best in affordable and accessible theater. It has created and premiered 28 new musicals and dramas that look to both entertain and educate young people through plots and characters that encourage self-expression and moral development. In “The Funny Monster Who Ate My Peas,” the boy has to decide whether to refuse the monster or face his fears, and everyone learns from his experience.
