PARIS: Terrorists’ Target was Murdered Editor

Paris–Hours after the terror attack on the offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which led to the murder of 12, a massive manhunt is still in progress. The suspects stormed the offices of the magazine in the heart of Paris. Editor-in-chief Stephane Charbonnier was killed with staff cartoonists in the attack on the paper, which was notorious for repeatedly publishing caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed. At least 20 were wounded, 5 of them critically.

The French Police called on the public to take precautions because three suspects are believed to be carrying Kalashnikovs and rocket-launchers. Television footage showed the surrounding streets jammed with police and emergency service vehicles, while tweeted pictures from people at the scene showed police cars riddled with bullets and people being carried away on stretchers.

“France is in a state of shock,” French President François Hollande said at the scene of Wednesday’s shooting.
