(Courtesy of PWP) Parkinsons Wellness Project (PWP), a Pomona-based nonprofit organization that promotes better awareness, education and social interaction for people living with Parkinson’s disease (PD), announced that it will host three upcoming wellness events:

“There is a critical need to provide education for the tools needed to navigate through the symptoms of PD,” said PWP Co-Director Susan Lust. “We are excited to host these three events for those experiencing PD and their care partners to learn from top experts in the field. The Discover Neuro Health Resources” introduces you to three hospital systems in our tri-state area. Breaking the stigma, understanding the disease and what you can do about it can have a dramatic effect on managing life with Parkinson’s.”

The PWP Discover Series brings together leading physicians, health care professionals, researchers, and the Parkinson’s disease care team of each hospital system to speak about their best practices and health concerns. These top-tier specialists will share their knowledge and expertise on best strategies for staying well and leading a healthier life.

“PWP has been a lifesaver for my mother, who did not share her diagnosis with us until she learned more about her symptoms and how to navigate through the stormy seas … PWP gives hope and understanding, guiding each unique family, every step of the way… by learning from the experts, the PWP Workout program, informative workshops, and most recently the Care Partner support group, PWP is a guiding light … The information we take away from these events is invaluable—We learn so much and make exceptional connections!”

The three interactive, in-person events will teach best practices in coping with PD and feature educational information from movement disorder specialists and other medical experts from each hospital system. The events will also be available virtually.

All events will include kosher buffets with plenty of time for socializing. PWP thanks the sponsors of the three events: AbbVie, Supernus, Abbott, Acadia, Kyowa Kirin, Acorda, Boston Scientific, Amneal and Medtronic.

Purchase tickets for these events online. Registration required; seating is limited. For more information, visit www.parkinsonswellnessproject.org or call (845) 300-4511.
