The West Englewood shopping district has seen many businesses come and go, but one particular establishment has survived the test of time. Located on the corner of The Plaza and Queen Anne Road, Parkview Pharmacy has serviced the community for more than four decades, providing friendly service and quality merchandise.

Owner David Teichman is proud to be a neighborhood pharmacist and believes he and the adjacent businesses are part of a “shtetl” that provides central resources to the town.

Teichman, who has a BS and an MS degree in pharmaceutical sciences, provides a service to patrons that is far more interactive than his much-larger competitors. “Customers who come to Parkview feel comfortable asking questions, knowing we are here to help,” said Teichman. Through the years Teichman has gotten to know many customers and has even attended many of their smachot.

Teichman aims to help, be it with special-order products or alternate prescription choices that work with insurance programs. Dedicated customers know that if they need advice, Teichman and his friendly staff will offer time and extensive knowledge of prescription availability.

Over time Teichman has added additional products specifically for the Orthodox community, which include a variety of kosher-certified vitamins. “As part of our effort to satisfy customers, we continually stock new products that will meet their pharmaceutical needs,” he said.

At Parkview, the goal is to help the customer in the best way possible. “If we are asked to call the doctor to discuss a prescription, we are happy to accommodate,” explained Teichman. As larger chain pharmacies continue to expand, personalized customer service is hard to find. Parkview Pharmacy delights in knowing that they are the exception to that growing trend.
