The Peace of Mind Highland Park/Edison chapter presents a screening of “The Dive,” winner of four international film awards, on Sunday, September 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Highland Park Conservative Temple.
Written and directed by former Peace of Mind participant Yona Rozenkier, “The Dive” tells the story of three brothers who reunite for one weekend to bury their father in their native kibbutz on the border with Lebanon. As war rages all around them, the two older brothers begin to train the youngest for his first war in the same way their father trained them, but after a tragic turn of events the journey spins out of control.
Peace of Mind is a project of Metiv: The Israel Psychodrama Center in Herzog Hospital in Jerusalem, which provides newly released Israeli combat soldiers with a nine-month intervention to reduce post-traumatic stress.
The cost to attend the film screening is $20 per person; $50 per person includes 6 raffle tickets for a chance to win some fabulous prizes. Sponsorships available: $180, $250, $360.
