Camp Overtime is a new and exciting one week hockey camp for middle school and high school boys who are looking to improve their hockey skills within a nurturing and wholesome environment. Daily hockey clinics run by current and former yeshiva league coaches and all stars focus on improving both individual and team skills. Clinics are designed to help each camper take his game to the next level. Campers play several competitive and intense league games a day in addition to participating in fun tournaments and competitions.
Camp Overtime is located at the beautiful campus of Camp Mesorah in Guilford, NY. The facilities include a state-of-the-art covered sports pavilion which has four sports courts (two hockey courts and two basketball courts) and two large outdoor hockey courts. Campers will be able to take advantage of many of the wonderful amenities that Camp Mesorah has to offer. The dining room, canteen and swimming pool are all new and improved.
Marc Poleyeff, director of Camp Overtime, has experience working in both formal and informal education and has also been involved in many sports programs. He has coached the MTA varsity hockey team and is currently the director of hockey at Camp Mesorah where he oversees the hockey program, runs daily hockey clinics and gives private hockey lessons. The upper staff includes Dov Elefant (RYNJ hockey coach), Jack Ganchrow (Moriah hockey coach), and Rabbi Mordechai Harris (HANC middle school and JV hockey coach). The lower staff is comprised of former yeshiva league all stars who have experience teaching hockey on all levels. Each staff member is committed to serving as a positive role model for the campers.
Each day the campers will be separated into small groups where coaches will lead learning sessions. This summer’s theme will be improving midot both on and off the courts. Campers will be able to apply what they learned when they step on the hockey courts and in day-to-day life.
The camp will run from Sunday, August 19 to Thursday, August 23. The camp is open to boys entering fifth-10th grades. The campers will be divided into three divisions: junior division for boys entering grades five and six, middle school division for boys entering grades seven and eight, and JV division for boys entering grades nine and 10. The fee per camper is $540. There is a group discount of $490 per camper for groups of six or more campers who sign up together.
