For years I have enjoyed the delicious deli at Petak’s in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. I was recently shopping at Julio’s Fruit Market in Teaneck when I came across a bottled, refrigerated, parve salad dressing with the Petak name on it. I immediately called the Petak’s store in Fair Lawn and was happily surprised to hear that this dressing was a fresh product produced by them. Since I had been searching for a parve, fresh, refrigerated salad dressing, I decided to buy both of their flavors, Sweet Soy and Caesar Salad Dressing. The dressings are creamy and delicious. They did not have a chemical taste or sour after-taste which many of the preservative-filled dressings in stores have.
I spoke with Gary Rubin, the owner of Petak’s, who said the product “flies off the shelf.” Although he only has two flavors now, he will be increasing to 12 flavors in the future. He also said he is looking for a distributor, but for now, the dressings are available at several of local stores and supermarkets, and can be ordered at Petak’s in Fair Lawn, NJ, 201-797- 5010
