I am so tired of the discussion taking place constantly about the tuition crisis. What is the big deal? There are definitely alternatives and I do not understand why they are not being considered. How many years is everyone paying school taxes to the local school boards? Get on the bandwagon and switch your children immediately. No longer will you have to hear about where classmates are going for Thanksgiving, their trips to Florida for the Chanukah break, the amazing time that they had in Cancun for the Spring break and of course the amazing Pesach which they spent at the new and exciting Pesach program in Cyprus.
Let them attend an NCSY Shabbaton and derive the amazing feeling for Yiddishkeit that is not always the case for those attending Jewish schools. They will learn as a new halacha that taking off rings prior to washing netilat yadayim means that the safest place to keep them is in the mouth. Havdalah might become a ritual that is looked forward to instead of listening to with one foot out of the house and the other with a cellphone in hand.
What a treat it would be for all family members to share vacation dates so that mom and dad do not have to worry about how to leave children when they are off to work.
Oh, I forgot that due to the fact that they might not visit Israel each year they will be eligible for Birthright and then realize the deep roots which we have to our homeland.
Enough about the tuition crisis. I am tired of listening to it.
