POTS Can Help Your Child Thrive

(Courtesy of POTS) Pediatric Occupational Therapy Services (POTS), established in 1991, is the premier pediatric occupational, physical, feeding and speech therapy practice in Bergen County. Our ongoing mission is to help each and every child meet their potential in a warm, supportive environment. We provide a broad range of evaluation, treatment and consultation services for infants, children, teens and their families. Our state-of-the-art facility with multiple sensory gyms, gross motor and fine motor treatment rooms and MEDEK equipment will excite your child’s senses and entice them to move, play and grow.

POTS boasts an experienced, highly trained therapy staff who evaluate and treat children with sensory integration deficits, self-regulation challenges, poor motor planning, difficulty with sense of body position in space, behavioral challenges, developmental delays, weak gross and fine motor skills, toe walking, difficulty focusing and attending, perceptual impairments, illegible handwriting and challenges in activities of daily living, to name a few. Many children have no known diagnosis, but experience challenges in meeting age-expected growth. Our 30 years of experience also includes close collaboration with schools and teachers, providing classroom strategies, when appropriate. POTS currently services both local public and private schools, providing in-school treatment.

POTS provides advanced treatment techniques including Feeding Therapy, SOS, sensory integration, Floortime, MEDEK™, Handwriting Without Tears®, Therapeutic Listening, Core Activation, the Alert Program and Brain Gym®. Committed to continuing education, we are consistently engaged in adding new techniques to our portfolio of services.

At our facility, every child looks like they are having an awesome play date—which is precisely the feel that excellent, effective occupational therapy should have. Children learn through play and positive experiences that provide “just the right challenge” at just the right time. We know we have struck the right balance when our young clients ask when they can sign up their siblings to play at POTS.

The holiday season, while off from school, is a great time for children to nurture their skills. That is why the POTS Fine Motor Tool Kit is a perfect gift!

In order to provide the opportunity to advance your children’s fine motor development and pre-writing skills at home, the POTS Team is delighted to introduce our Fine Motor Tool Kit and eBook. All the materials required provide a comprehensive fine-motor home program that engages both your child and the family.

Each item has been carefully selected by our talented therapists to help your children hone their fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, pre-writing, cutting and executive functioning skills. The accompanying manual includes activity instructions and lists the benefits of each activity, but the opportunities for creative learning are endless.

Thank you for allowing us to partner with you to maximize your children’s potential and help them reach for the stars!
