A program on “Practical Jewish Estate Planning” will take place on November 3rd at noon at Ft. Lee’s Young Israel at 1610 Parker Avenue (entrance on Old Palisade Road). Martin Shenkman, a widely quoted expert on tax matters, will be the guest speaker. The public is welcome.
While many of us understand that proper estate planning is necessary for our protection and the protection of our families, few of us are aware that there are serious Jewish religious parameters involved in this process. Mr. Shenkman, in discussing what needs to be done in such estate planning, will also address the halachic issues in that context.
Mr. Shenkman is a regular source for numerous financial and business publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Money, the NY Times, and others. He has appeared as a tax expert on numerous public and cable TV shows including The Today Show, CNN, NBC Evening News, CNBC, and others. Mr. Shenkman is a prolific author, having had 42 books and more than 900 articles published. He is a distinguished member of the Young Israel of Fort Lee.
A Q&A and light lunch will follow.
