Precision-Guided Assassination Sends a Message

It was a shot between terrorism’s eyes.

An IAF precision-guided missile entered the Gaza window of Islamic Jihad commander Baha Abu Al-Ata and his wife, killing them both.

With this act, Israel has sent a compelling message to Hamas, Iran and indeed the world that its far-reaching intelligence leave its enemies at grave risk.

Al-Ata was the monster who ordered rockets fired at a Sderot children’s fair among many other atrocities. He sent missiles toward Ashdod, forcing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to flee the stage of an election campaign appearance.

With this targeted action, Israel showed the world that it will not tolerate or stand for terrorist proxies.

There was quick support coming from Vice President Mike Pence defending Israel’s actions unequivocally. What we are waiting for is any sort of U.N. condemnation of the rocket fire coming, and yet to come, from the Islamic Jihad or Hamas for that matter. We know that Israel has a better chance of being condemned for targeted killings or, better yet, “excessive force.”

Also, we wonder who from the Democrat presidential hopefuls will speak in support of America’s closest ally during this time of increased tension. We were encouraged to see former Vice President Joe Biden write on Twitter that he supported Israel’s right to defend itself.

Do Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren still want to modify the Memorandum of Understanding and reduce the $3.8 billion in military aid to Israel?

We certainly hope that rocket fire from Gaza ends soon. But Israel has a right to defend itself and its citizens; our friends and family must be able to live without fear of terror.

We hope that its enemies understand that Israel’s military can neutralize the most malignant of threats even if it means putting a missile through a bedroom window to do it.
