Premiere Broadcast Journalist Anderson Cooper Will Speak at Kaplen JCC on the Palisades

Anderson Cooper—one of America’s most popular broadcast journalists, television personalities and authors—will appear at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades on June 4, 7 p.m., where he will share his observations on topics ranging from eye-opening insights on American politics and current events to life as a traveling journalist and what it was like to grow up in a well-known family as the son of Gloria Vanderbilt. His presentation will be followed by a moderated Q&A, and those who opt to purchase VIP seats will have the opportunity to attend a private dessert reception, including a photo opportunity with Mr. Cooper.

Mr. Cooper’s appearance will also mark the launch of the JCC’s new “Patron of the Arts” program, which will provide subscribers with access to cultural arts at the JCC in new and innovative ways through performances, films, art exhibitions and literary events. Program subscribers will receive special benefits including concierge service, VIP ticket access, reserved parking and more.

“It is our honor to have Anderson Cooper join us for what promises to be an exciting and thought-provoking evening that will also create the perfect platform to introduce our patrons program,” said JCC CEO Jordan Shenker. “The JCC is devoted to providing forums for thoughtful community discussions and intellectual exploration, and drawing a nationally celebrated global newscaster like Anderson Cooper to our community is a memorable way to showcase our new initiative. It demonstrates our commitment to taking high-level programming to new heights.”

As a premiere broadcast journalist and anchor of the Emmy-winning CNN news program “Anderson Cooper 360°,” Cooper goes behind the headlines to report on the most pressing stories of the day and delivers them to a worldwide audience from multiple perspectives that have changed the way most Americans watch the news. As a major correspondent for CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” Anderson is also widely respected for his courageous, on-the-scene reporting of breaking and often disastrous news events, from the tsunami in Sri Lanka to starvation in Niger to the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He is also known for his compassionate coverage of war-torn regions around the globe, providing a comprehensive perspective on the challenges we face in a rapidly changing world. Cooper has become a highly sought debate moderator and was praised most recently for his sharp, even-handed questioning and fact-checking during the 2016 presidential debates.
