Preschool at PLAYfully Learns Hands-On

The children at PLAYfully really enjoyed looking up at the night sky as they learned about the moon. They really got into this unit and have been pretending the climbing structure is their rocket. They did some great counting down from five!

They also built a stomp rocket from pvc pipe and soda bottles. The children decorated the rocket with paint and sent it up into the sky.

The children used salt dough to make a moon. They painted half the moon black and half the moon with glow in the dark paint. The children know (and can feel with their hands) that the whole moon is there but only half the moon is visible in the dark.

In parsha, the children learned that Avraham Avinu shared his best food with his guests. They thought about if they were Avraham Avinu in the tent, what would be their “best food” they’d  want to share? The children glued pictures of the foods they like best on a plate next to the tent they constructed. They counted the doors of the tent together, labeling each door with a number to work on number recognition.
