David Cunio, 34 (David ben Sylvia), was taken captive on October 7 from Kibbutz Nir Oz along with his wife Sharon Aloni Cunio, 34, and their twin 3-year-old daughters, Yuli and Emma. Their house was set on fire and the family was held in Khan Younis.

Sharon and the children were released on November 27, but David remains in captivity. “I’m both a mother and a father right now,” Sharon said.

David was born on the kibbutz and works as an electrician. He is also an actor, appearing in the 2013 Israeli film, “Youth.”

“Fight for me,” he said to Sharon as she was being released. “Don’t give up. Please yell what I cannot yell. I’m scared as hell.”
