Guy Gilboa-Dalal (Guy ben Meirav) was 22 on Oct. 7, when he was abducted by Hamas terrorists from the Nova music festival. His brother, Gal, was also attending the festival and managed to hide for hours before being rescued by security forces.

A hostage rescued in June 2024 reported that he had seen Guy in Gaza, the first indication that Guy was still alive. He reported that Guy and other hostages were subjected to physical and mental abuse, and received very little food and drink.

Guy loves Japanese culture and taught himself Japanese, hoping to travel to Japan one day.

The Gilboa-Dalal family sukkah, erected in 2023, is still standing in Alfei Menashe, full of pictures of Guy.

“We’ve sat in the sukkah all year long,” said Gal, as a reminder of Guy, who had promised to dismantle the sukkah on Oct. 6. “We’re all missing him but we’re strong and we love each other and we’re optimistic.”
