Tzachi and Gali Idan and their children Maayan, 18, Yael, 11, and Shachar, 9, were in the safe room of their home at Kibbutz Nahal Oz on October 7, resisting the efforts of Hamas terrorists, who were attempting to enter. The terrorists shot through the safe room door, killing Maayan. In shock, Tsachi let the door fall open and was abducted.

Tzachi (Yitzchak ben Devora), who turned 50 while in captivity, works in high tech and loves playing sports and listening to music. Said Gali, “I am doing everything in my power to bring him home alive and well. He has to live for our daughter Maayan, and [to] be able to hug our living children again. He needs to come home.”
