Project Ezrah’s Interest-Free Loan Initiative

A one-time, unexpected expense could seriously damage a family’s carefully planned budget. Though fiscally appropriate and stringent in adhering to their financial plan, a family could face a tough dilemma when challenged with an unexpected happening…leading to an unexpected but necessary payment.

Project Ezrah has seen many families struggle through such a rough patch and, understanding that sometimes a simple Band-Aid is all that is needed, has created an interest-free loan program. The IFLP grants small, short-term loans to cover one-time unexpected expenses that could otherwise devastate a family.

Continuing assistance to Project Ezrah’s clients and candidates is still the organization’s prime focus; therefore, a process of due diligence has been established to evaluate each loan request. A committee of trustees evaluates and judges each application’s merit based on the assessed probability of the loan’s satisfaction and the virtue as well as the necessity of the loan’s purpose and use. Any request must be submitted with: (1) the loan application form, (2) a detailed statement outlining the loan’s proposed purpose and use and (3) two approved co-signers (with names and all contact information) who must consent to sign the guarantors’ agreement.

Though small, these loans help families continue on an otherwise smoothly paved financial road. Project Ezrah’s interest-free loan initiative is just one more approach to helping community members—just one more way in which “Ezrah” means “help.”
