Even though Purim is not yet behind us, many of us are already thinking ahead to Pesach. But for an increasing number of families in our community, the thought of Pesach brings more stress than joy. Over the past three years, there has been an unprecedented rise in the number of families struggling to meet their basic needs. Inflation, rising costs and financial instability have left many of our neighbors barely managing to stay afloat. Now, with the added burden of Pesach expenses, families who were already stretched thin are facing even greater hardship.
Recognizing this growing crisis, three years ago Project Ezrah launched a Pesach grant program to ensure that every family could make Yom Tov with dignity. This initiative has become a critical lifeline, providing direct financial assistance to families who would otherwise struggle to cover the costs of the holiday. The demand for these grants has increased every year, and this Pesach we anticipate the number of applications will be higher than ever.
Project Ezrah proudly announces that this year’s Pesach grant applications are now open to all members of the Bergen County community at ezrah.org. These funds help relieve the immense financial pressure that comes with preparing for Yom Tov, ensuring families can purchase essentials and celebrate without anxiety.
If you or someone you know needs assistance, please apply as soon as possible. Grants will be disbursed on a rolling basis, and all applications must be submitted by March 17 to ensure timely assistance.
The number of families reaching out for help is overwhelming, and Project Ezrah cannot do this alone. Every dollar donated goes directly to families who are struggling to make Pesach. If you are able to contribute to this urgent initiative, please visit ezrah.org and click on the Maot Chittim Banner.
Together, we can ensure that no one in our community is left behind this Pesach.
