Psychology Course at Union Y to Begin Sept. 6

The Senior Adult Department of the YM-YWHA of Union is pleased to announce that the course “Discovering Psychology,” which has appeared on public television, will be brought to the Y for a 13-part series beginning on September 6. The course (Wednesdays 10:15–11:30 a.m.) highlights an overview of historic and current theories of human behavior. Dr. Hank Kaplowitz, returning for the third year, earned his PhD in Social Psychology from Yeshiva University and taught at Kean University for 42 years. He was also the founding director of the Human Rights Institute, among other honors and achievements. The class includes classic experiments, current research, documentary footage and computer animation.

The “Y,” located at 501 Green Lane in Union, has a varied selection of programs each morning, Monday through Friday, all culminating in a hot kosher lunch ($1.75). The psychology course is offered free of charge; priority seating given to Y members. Guests are encouraged to make a donation. Reservations are strongly suggested by calling 908-289-8112, ext. 0 or 34.
