The month of Adar II was filled with simcha at SAR High School! When students arrived to school on Rosh Chodesh, they found the beit midrash festively decorated so that all of the month’s learning would be infused with simcha. On Friday, the second day of Rosh Chodesh, students saw a twist on a popular tradition. Instead of seniors leading pre-Shabbat ruach, the freshmen got things started by first going up to the senior floor and then together the two classes spread the pre-Shabbat spirit throughout the entire school. Adar has also seen many different dress up days, such as jersey day and pajama day. On the 7 of Adar, the birthday and yahrzeit of Moshe Rabbeinu, over 20 teachers dressed up as biblical characters. Students were sent riddles as clues to whom the characters were and were charged with solving the riddles and taking selfies with the characters. The month of Adar was filled with many other surprises, culminating with Megilla reading and entertainment on Purim night, and Shushan Purim on Friday in school. V’nahafoch hu!
