Rabbi Ari Lamm to Speak at Congregation Rinat Yisrael This Shabbat

It is hard to imagine anyone in the community not making their way to Congregation Rinat Yisrael on Shabbat, August 11, at 6:10 p.m. to hear Rabbi Ari Lamm give a speech entitled, “The Historical Origins and Implications of a Multi-Generational Machloket (Halachic Dispute).”

Rabbi Ari Lamm is the special advisor to the president of Yeshiva University. He works closely with the president on all matters concerning the University’s mission and vision, and oversees intellectual and philosophical initiatives emerging from the office of the president. After receiving his BA from Yeshiva University he earned his MA, as a US-UK Fulbright Scholar, in Jewish Studies and Eastern Christianity from University College London, as well as an MA in religion from Princeton University, and semicha from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. Most recently he was the resident scholar at the Jewish Center in Manhattan. Rabbi Lamm is currently pursuing his PhD in ancient Judaism and Christianity at Princeton University. In addition, he is a founding editor and contributor at Lehrhaus, a premier online publication for contemporary Jewish thought (www.thelehrhaus.com); an executive committee member of Global Unites, a non-partisan group committed to long-term conflict transformation and sustainability; and a Wexner Graduate Fellow in Jewish Studies.

Rabbi Lamm, with his extensive education and knowledge and superb oratory skills, will provide those heading to Rinat on Shabbat with a real treat.
