Rabbi Benjamin Yudin, longtime spiritual leader of Congregation Shomrei Torah in Fair Lawn, is now wearing a second hat: that of published author. His first book, Rabbi Benjamin Yudin on the Parsha, has just been published by Mosaica Press. Rabbi Yudin has led Shomrei Torah since 1969, helping to build it into one of the largest Orthodox congregations in northern New Jersey. He is also an instructor of Talmud, Bible, and Jewish Law at Yeshiva University. But his book is drawn primarily from another venue: his foray into broadcasting. Each Friday, Rabbi Yudin delivers a 15-minute radio commentary on the week’s Parsha (Torah portion) and its ethical lessons during the “JM in the AM” program hosted by Nachum Segal and broadcast on station WFMU. An audience of more than 50,000 listeners tunes in each week to hear the rabbi’s insights into the Torah – which are now available on the printed page. Rabbi Benjamin Yudin on the Parsha is available in hardcover on Amazon or via the Mosaica Press website, http://mosaicapress.com.
