Teach NJS was proud to have Rabbi Eli Ciner, Principal of The Frisch School, deliver the invocation on April 7 at the New Jersey General Assembly voting session at the Statehouse in Trenton.

The Frisch School is a participating member of TEACH NJS, which is a partnership of 20 day schools, the Orthodox Union Advocacy Center and the Jewish Federations of Northern New Jersey.

During the session in the Assembly, the “Secure Schools for All Children Act,” sponsored by Assembly Budget Chair Gary Schaer and with the support of Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto, passed by a 74-0 margin. This bill will provide parity in security funding for all of New Jersey’s non-public school children, including those that attend day schools. It’s a big step forward in the State providing equal protection for every child while in school.

Rabbi Ciner was joined by his special assistant, his daughter 7-year old Tiferet, for the day.

“It was a tremendous honor for the Frisch community to have Rabbi Ciner deliver the invocation before the New Jersey State Assembly, and the immediate results were impressive!” said Sam Moed, co-chair of Teach NJS.
