On Wednesday, March 15, Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School (RKYHS) in Livingston sent out an email announcing Rabbi Maccabee Avishur as the new school principal. According to the announcement, Rabbi Avishur will assume his leadership role beginning July 2023.

Prior to being selected for this role, Rabbi Avishur held roles at the  YU School Partnership and Prizmah, and most recently served as the Academic Dean and General Studies Principal at Heichal HaTorah, a yeshiva high school in Teaneck, NJ. Rabbi Avishur received semicha from Rabbi Ephraim Greenblatt, zt”l, and holds a graduate degree in Theology and Study of Religions from Cambridge University in England. He is currently completing his doctoral dissertation in Educational Leadership at Yeshiva University’s Azrieli Graduate School. The Avishurs live in Teaneck with their four children.

“We are confident that Rabbi Avishur has the intellect, knowledge, and vision to lead RKYHS into a bright and successful future,” wrote RKYHS Head of School Eliezer Rubin. “He will work closely with our dedicated faculty, administrators, and me to continue providing our students with a rigorous, engaging, and supportive education that prepares them for their chosen paths beyond high school graduation. We are confident he will inspire excellence in every aspect of the RKYHS experience.”
