Congregation Netivot Shalom will be hosting world-renowned scholar, Rabbi Menachem Leibtag, on Shabbat, on June 28th. His first shiur will follow the Torah reading during shachrit and is entitled: The Number Seven in Chumash, and its Connection to the Laws of Tumah. Shachrit begins at 8:45 am.
His second lesson is immediately following service (after Kiddush) and is entitled: The Tragedies in Sefer Bamidbar: Punishment or Consequence? The entire community is invited to attend.
On Shabbat evening, Rabbi Leibtag will speak at 7:10 p.m. on “Moshe and the Rock: A Sin or a Sign?” and at 8:30 p.m. on “How Chumash Explains the Siddur,” at Congregation Beth Aaron, 950 Queen Anne Road, Teaneck.
Rabbi Leibtag, founder of The Tanach Study Center [www.tanach.org], is one of the pioneers of Jewish education on the Internet. He is known for his weekly essays on Parshat ha’Shavua and audio podcasts on the books of Neviim. Rabbi Leibtag has been a “rebbe” at Yeshivat Har Etzion for over 30 years. He also teaches at Yeshivat Shaalavim and Midreshet Lindenbaum. He also routinely lectures around the globe, primarily as a Scholar-in-Residence in communities in North America, and is a regular guest lecturer for Jewish students on university campuses.
