The Ramaz Upper School was honored to welcome Rabbi Paysach Krohn to deliver the annual in-school teshuva drasha. Rabbi Krohn’s inspiring messages and anecdotes focused all of the students and teachers on the opportunity for growth that is afforded on Yom Kippur. He spoke about ways to enrich one’s relationship to tefillah as well as the responsibility to bring more kindness into the world. He illustrated the power of chesed through the palindrome of ונתנו (venatnu, and you should give), reminding  students that the more one gives to others, the more the giver receives in enriching themselves. He also urged every person to use their own Siddur and to underline and highlight the words that they connect to, personalizing the tefillot for every person.
