By bolstering its shiurim (lectures) and overall Judaic studies program through the addition of Rabbi Rosner, JCT takes a major step toward establishing a high-level Torah study environment that mirrors its Hebrew-language beit midrash in English. Rabbi Rosner will begin his new role in September 2024.

“We see the center of the Jewish future as being in Israel,” Rabbi Rosner said. “Many of the English-speaking international students who want to remain in Israel are seeking options to earn a college degree while simultaneously continuing their Torah learning and Torah growth, all within one institution. JCT is creating a home in which its unique model—featuring Torah, a prestigious degree in business, technology and studying in Israel—enables students to stay in Israel whether it’s before army service or after the army, whatever suits their path in life.”

Ordained by Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, Rabbi Rosner was a member of the Beren Kollel Elyon and a Kupietsky Kodshim Fellow. Until he made aliyah to Israel in August 2008, he was a popular lecturer at YU’s Stone Beis Medrash Program and the rabbi of Congregation Bais Ephraim Yitzchok (the “Island Shul”) in Woodmere, New York, for six years. His popular lectures are broadcast online and followed by thousands of Torah learners globally on AllDaf, AllParsha, and at www.OU.org.

Renowned for his ability to clarify the most complex sugyot (topics or discussions), and as a warm and caring teacher and mentor, Rabbi Rosner has been a leading figure in Israel’s Torah study space for the past decade at Yeshivat Reishit Yerushalayim and most recently at Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh. He helped found the Nofei Hashemesh community in Beit Shemesh, where he serves as spiritual leader for the community. During the summers, he is camp rabbi and educational director at Camp Kaylie.

“I’ve had the special opportunity to witness people thrive at all key stages of the Torah study journey, both in the U.S. and Israel, and it’s now my privilege to be able to help elevate the English-language programs at JCT where students live, learn and grow, and have access to everything they expect from a high-quality yeshiva program,” Rabbi Rosner said.

He added, “We want to foster Torah growth in students’ futures as well, after they leave the walls of the beit midrash and wherever they continue their learning.”

Rabbi Rosner is married to Dr. Rabanit Tamar Rosner, a pediatrician, and has seven children.
