(Courtesy of JFS MetroWest) Rachel Coalition, the domestic violence division of Jewish Family Service of MetroWest, hosted its annual community education luncheon this past week. Over 180 people were in attendance, and the organization raised over $2,100 in gift cards for domestic violence victims and their families. JFS also honored the memory of Lois Kaish, z”l, longtime co-chair of this annual event.

Rachel Lousie Snyder, NY Times best-selling author (l), and Andrea G. Bier (West Orange), president of JFS board of trustees.

The event featured NY Times best-selling author, Rachel Louise Snyder. Rachel shared her experiences with domestic violence. Her candid narrative was both engaging and eye-opening for those in attendance. Snyder’s newest book, Women We Buried, Women We Burned: A Memoir, will be discussed at the next JFS/Rachel Coalition Book Club on November 14. You can register at www.jfsmetrowest.org/book-club-november

Proceeds from the luncheon help to support Rachel Coalition, the domestic violence division of Jewish Family Service of MetroWest New Jersey. The mission of the coalition is to improve the lives of those affected by domestic violence by providing a comprehensive and coordinated response to domestic violence in the community.
