The educational experience of raising butterflies is something Teaneck Chabad Preschool children will not forget. They learned about the life cycle of the butterfly; they watched the transformation day by day from tiny caterpillars all the way through the metamorphosis to butterflies. The students examined each stage of butterfly development carefully, observing how the caterpillars eat and move, and how they change features and color as they grow. The preschoolers watched them form chrysalises and hang from the top. They saw the chrysalis change color shortly before the beautiful painted lady butterflies emerged. The children made sure to feed them and love them, and then set them free.
