Ramaz is delighted to welcome this year’s new faculty. Here are a few of the wonderful teachers who will strengthen both Judaic and general studies:

Adam Kulick

Adam Kulick, English Department

Adam Kulick is excited to be joining Ramaz Upper School’s English department and Learning Center. He attended Brandeis University for his undergraduate studies and earned a Master of Education from Boston College. Originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts, he spent the past school year teaching English at a secondary school in Madrid, Spain. In his free time, he enjoys reading modern American literature and playing soccer. He looks forward to becoming part of the Ramaz community!

Rabbi Haim Ovadia

Rabbi Haim Ovadia, Upper School Judaic Studies Faculty

Rabbi Haim Ovadia looks forward to joining the Ramaz Upper School Judaic studies department and will be teaching Tanakh, Talmud and Jewish Thought. He was born in Jerusalem and has served as a rabbi in South America, Israel, California and Maryland. He has also taught in the Berman Hebrew Academy, as well as in other schools. He received rabbinic ordination from the SSC and Rav Mordechai Eliyahu. He also earned a bachelor’s in Talmud from Bar Ilan University, a master’s in Near East languages and culture from UCLA, and he is currently working on his doctorate at Bar Ilan University.

Rabbi Haim Ovadia

Edna Ovadia, Lower School Judaic Studies Faculty

Edna Ovadia, Rabbi Haim’s wife, is also joining the Ramaz community and looks forward to teaching second-grade Judaic Studies. Ms. Ovadia began her educational journey at Ulpena L’Banot Amana in Kfar Saba and completed her bachelor’s of education in music and Judaic studies at the Jerusalem College Michlalah for Women. Most recently, she taught first and second grade Hebrew and Judaic studies at Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy in Rockville, Maryland. She also taught Hebrew at the Yeshivah of Flatbush and engaged students in Jewish learning through music and movement at Barkai Yeshiva and Torath Emeth Academy.

Matthew Bronson

Matthew Bronson, Math Teacher

Matthew Bronson is happy to join the middle school as a math teacher and Learning Center specialist. He has an undergraduate degree in international business from Skidmore College and an MBA in finance from Syracuse University. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in special education. Mr. Bronson has taught middle and high school mathematics and worked as a learning specialist at DREAM Charter School, the Dwight School and Bay Ridge Prep. His journey into education is a testament to his adaptability and commitment to learning: Before embarking on this path, he spent over 15 years in institutional finance for bulge-bracket investment banks and boutique brokerage firms. His passion for helping others achieve their goals extends beyond the classroom. He helped found CrossFit Upper East Side, continues to coach CrossFit classes and performs personal training in his spare time. He is a dedicated husband and father to a ninth grader, and he is thrilled to bring his enthusiasm and expertise to the Ramaz school community.
