Before Yom Kippur, the Ramaz upper school held an assembly to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War and to honor the veterans of the war who are in the Ramaz community. Danny Arbusman, a grandfather of Ramaz students, spoke about his experience on the front lines on the Golan Heights and his miraculous story of survival. He left the audience with the message to never give up, even when it seems that there is no hope, and to always appreciate the extraordinary gift and miracle of the State of Israel. Both Arbusman and Oshri Endzweig are veteran-grandparents who were recognized for their heroism.
