Ramaz Students Become Peer Tutor Leaders

The Ramaz School is partnering with Eshkolēt to create a peer tutoring program for their students. Upper school tutor volunteers will become math mentors and role models for middle school students. Upper school volunteers recently attended an in-school tutor training workshop led by the founder of Eshkolēt, Leah Bader. Highlights included skills needed to become an effective tutor and how to create a safe space for tutees. Tutors engaged in roleplay of sample tutoring scenarios and brainstormed how to improve each session. This week tutors were matched with their assigned middle school math students and will be meeting via videoconference once a week. Tutors are excited to take on this leadership role and contribute to their community in a positive and meaningful way. For more information visit www.eshkolet.com
