As part of a unit on food insecurity in NYC, Ramaz juniors visited the Hunts Point Food Market to gain a perspective on where and how produce comes into NYC stores and restaurants. Students discussed the challenges of getting produce if one is a poor or homeless New Yorker. They left with bags full of potatoes, oranges, apples, lemons and yams that are being delivered to local food banks and in the Met Council Pesach deliveries.
