TABCs talmidim in the eleventh and twelfth grades had the zechut of hearing a sicha from Rav Blachman, the associate rosh yeshiva of Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh. In his own inimitable way, Rav Blachman discussed how Yaakov’s vision at the beginning of this week’s parsha presaged Am Yisrael’s continuing encounter and interaction with foreign cultures. He stressed the importance of leading a broad, rather than a fragmented, life. The talmidim were left with a tremendous amount of food for thought.
